What did I like? Everything. What an absolute gem of a property. I was hesitant to write this review, as I selfishly don't want more people to find out about Villa Trompenberg. But yea, the place is simply phenomenal. Really cool old house converted into a boutique hotel. Everything you could want from an accommodation and then some. Large, elegant, spotlessly clean, comfortable room. Bikes available for hire. Fully stocked 24 hour food and drink offerings in the reception / kitchen. Easy everything; check in, bike hire, coffee on demand, honesty bar, check out. The daughter in the family that owns the property was there in the morning making eggs to order for the guests, and chatting with her a bit was a total bonus highlight. Honestly one of the most enjoyable hotel stays I've ever had.

The house was well stocked and quite close to the train station. The TV had a lot of options. There was a wide selection of teas. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee maker was not too difficult to figure out.

We used Hilversum as a base to visit relatives throughout...
We used Hilversum as a base to visit relatives throughout the country. The accommodations are half the price of the Holiday Inn at the train station in Amsterdam with a much bigger suite and a good kitchen. We rented a car at the airport which worked out well. There was free parking everywhere outside Amsterdam. Hilversum is filled with good restaurants and is a beautiful smaller city.

I'm my booking I asked for a single double bed but the hotel told me booking.com did not inform then so I had 2 single bed which I did not like . So I dad to downgrade my room to get a bed that I like without any refund.

Hilversum is a small and cozy city next to Utrecht. It is very calm even though it has a big variety of restaurants, bars, cafés. Also it has a mall with brands like Primark, Zara, H&M and a big cinema close by.

Lots of restaurants and shops. Good location for travel to Amsterdam. Only 20 mins on the train. Could do with more of the restaurants having their menus with English translation as this caused us a few problems .looking forward to going back

In the beggining I didn't have my expectations too high, but once I got there, I saw that the staff was exceptional and was really efficient helping me with an issue I had with my booking. They were very kind to me and I really appreciate their help. In terms of comfort in the room, I was also surprised (in a good way) with the size of the room and bathroom. Beds are excellent, the Nespresso machine in the room was a plus for me, as well as the deco, very cool. We had a 3 single bed room, and it was large and comfortable in size. Independent air conditioning worked perfect in summer. You can walk to the Train Station, there are lots of restaurants and bars nearby, even shopping stores, and even a nice supermarket 3 minutes away.

The apartment was a great location for our needs with everything we needed. We didn't end up using the kitchenette though.
