Awesome comfortable clean cottage. Great facilities and location. Had everything we needed. Hosts were lovely and left the lights on for us as we arrived late. Excellent value for money and great communication. Would definitely stay here again!

It’s very cozy and comfortable, great location for Hastings and into the rest of the Hawke’s Bay. This was my third or fourth time here and it was another lovely stay.

We only visited the Supermarket as we had a Marie function just out of Hastings. We were there most of the weekend. It was beginning to rain when we all left and rained all the way to Gisborne. Hastings looks very tidy and upmarket. I hadn’t visited Hastings for many years. It was great.

This was a visit for a whānau gathering, so my itinerary was pretty much planned before I arrived. I know Hastings well and there are many great things to keep you busy and entertained if you choose to holiday here.
If you are coming to Hastings then a stay at Portmans is a great choice. Nice facilities, great location, really cool owners and staff. You can't go wrong!

This is a lovely friendly town and region.
This is a lovely friendly town and region. I’ve traveled here yearly with work and holiday for several decades. Even a week or so after the Feb 2023 cyclone slammed this town it was back up and running for visitors. Even with a lot of bridges closed, traffic still flowed ok with only minor delays during rush hours.

I was in Hastings to participate in an early morning fundraising activity so I was focused on accommodation, food, ease of getting to the fundraising site and buying seasonal fruit.
Got seasonal fruit on Sunday as they would not be open on the stat holiday on Monday.
Accommodation is good - cheap, well maintained, central location
Food - Could not find a restaurant so got take aways
Asked at large supermarket in Hastings for location of Flaxmere Park - staff discussion between 5 people resulted in none of them having heard of it.

The people are always friendly, there are many wonderful places to visit, lots of different activities, splash planet is always a hit.. Plenty of different places to eat out, theres a place for all diets.. Normally I don't cope with traffic lights however driving around Hastings does not cause me anxiety..
We love visiting Hastings..
staff did not stay at the property.
she meet by a half naked man when she entered in reception and was advised owners or people that looked after are out and he was looking after the property.
she identified that the property was a an emergency housing motel and she was also concerned for her welfare. we found another place for her to stay in Napier which was further than we expected her to be in for her work in Hastings.
We were arriving on Xmas day and we were very grateful and appreciative that we were able at time of booking, to arrange early check in and pick up of key, as we were travelling through Hastings to spend Xmas Day with family in Poukawa Valley and it made sense to pick up keys early and not have to travel back in to Hastings & out again just to do check in. Well appointed rooms, friendly staff.
Everything! Our cabin was clean and spacious for 2 adults 3 children. The shared kitchen, bathroom facilities were right outside our door. The playground & swimming pool was also AWESOME! Our kids had such a great time & were never bored unless they were hungry. The bbq area(s) were fantastic! Tidy & clean. I highly recommend Hastings Top 10 Holiday Park to all families.
The house was incredible and spacious for my family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a 9 year old). Would recommend to all visiting Sunny Hastings for the short or long stays. Close to amenities and most food outlets. With splash planet just around the corner it'll be an easy decision to make a booking at this fabulous 10/10 home.
While the room is less spacious than a hotel room (it is a bedroom in someone's home) the owners have managed to get all that is needed for a comfortable stay into the room without feeling squashed in. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit. The room is quiet and very well located for our needs. Thank you
Breakfast was adequate and perfect. An excellent variety of cereals and extras. Could not have asked for better. Bed was so comphy and loved the pillows.
Overall comfort was excellent in this pristinely presented room. Will definitely recommend, but not when we are travelling to Hastings again :-).
Garden Cottage is the perfect getaway retreat tucked just out of Hastings. Easy to get in and out of Hastings, nice and quiet, very comfortable bed, lovely finishings, delicious coffee and you get to wake up to the sounds of the country. We will stay here again on our next visit to Hastings.
The location was in a very quiet part of Hastings, the studio room was very well equipped, and the friendly hosts went out of their way to accommodate guests requirements. The continental breakfast provided was amazing, along with all the complimentary extras provided with this unit
Clean and quiet hotel with all of the needed amenities. Basically a fully appointed apartment.
Having a washer/dryer in the room was a big bonus.
Overall I enjoyed my stay and I would return if ever in the area again.
perfect location for what my partner and I needed for our stay in Hastings. Great bed, room well presented amenities all supplied dishes for meals washed daily by host. Ideal
Friendly, helpful hosts. The whare (bedroom) itself was well heated and comfortable. The location - rural but very close easy access to Hastings and Havelock
