Selina Red Frog, hotel in Bocas Town

Selina Red Frog is part of the Isla Bastimentos Natural Park. The hostel has an outdoor pool and sun terrace, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar.

The yoga, meditation, art and wine and coconut workshop and general Helpfulness of staff made up for the slightly run down dorm room. Nice retreat vibes, met lovely people. Lovely WhatsApp with daily message of the schedule of activities. Good space in the room and functional shared bathroom and kitchen. Enjoyed the walk to and from the beach. Enjoyed the zapatillo tour. Good luggage storage. The activities and jungle settling made the hostel stand out. Stunning beach!

This is a very nice place and away from the noise, but still quite close to where the boat comes in--maybe a ten minute walk. Bed was comfortable, room was comfortable. Air conditionning was good. Wifi worked well. 10% discount on breakfast which was not substantial, but made it comparable to restaurant outside, but very nice setting .Staff were super friendly and kind. Especially the women at the front desk, I was there a while ago so cannot remember their names unfortunately. It felt a bit luxorious, actually.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel was something special. The staff greeted us with warmth and genuine smiles, instantly making us feel welcomed and valued. Their friendliness and eagerness to cater to our every need were unparalleled, making our stay not just comfortable but truly delightful. Dining here was an experience in itself. Despite being a bit away from the city's hustle, the hotel offered a gastronomic adventure that easily surpassed local tourist spots in Bocas Town, both in quality and price. Each dinner was a surprise with a different menu, showcasing a variety of delicious, well-crafted dishes that left us eagerly anticipating the next meal. The affordability of these gourmet experiences was the cherry on top, providing exceptional value for money. The hotel's design ingeniously balances social interaction and private tranquility. The view of Bird Island from the hotel is nothing short of breathtaking. Its beauty serves as a constant reminder that you are staying in one of the world's most picturesque locations. For the adventurous spirit, the hotel provides kayaks for exploring the serene ocean. However, the staff’s wisdom in advising on weather conditions underscores their commitment to guest safety. They remind us that while the ocean's beauty is mesmerizing, respect for nature's unpredictability is paramount. Finding a hotel that strikes a perfect balance between outstanding service, exquisite dining, social and private harmony, adventure, and safety is rare.

La Coralina Island House, hotel in Bocas Town

Located in Bocas Town, a few steps from Bluff, La Coralina Island House has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center and a garden.

La Coralina exceeded our expectations and was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The property is absolutely stunning and feels like you have teleported to Bali. Our room was spacious and had a lovely outdoor seating area. The infinity pool overlooking Paunch surf break is amazing. This is definitely a great place to stay if you are a surfer. We loved the included breakfast and every other meal we had was fantastic. I also really loved the free daily wellness activities and the spa/gym area is beautifully tucked into the forest where you will find another pool area. The staff were very kind and always anticipating our needs (ie leaving umbrellas outside our rooms when it was raining). I really did not want to check out. Highly recommend this hotel for a beautiful and relaxing stay in Bocas del Toro.

    There is road construction EVERYWHERE.

There is road construction EVERYWHERE. We had no problem with their shared taxi, which means you will have several people squeezed in with you, going more or less in the same direction, but with the construction, many times your cab will not be able to reach your destination. This is Mexico 40 years ago.

If I was 25 and wanted to drink all day, it might be the place for a vacation. Lots of bars and clubs. I food is ok if you can get pass the barkers in the street. If you get out of city central, you can find some lovely beaches, but they are packed with people. We stayed in town for 5 days and two days on an out Island. Be prepared for many of the three- and four-star hotels have no AC. I have traveled all over the world; this would be on the bottom of my list. They haven't taken care of the environment or the waters that bring people to this location.

Be sure to wear the right shoes walking around Bocas Town,...

Be sure to wear the right shoes walking around Bocas Town, as it can get muddy and there's currently construction in town for a new sewer system. While the locals can be a bit assertive and follow you around offering you tour options (and drugs), they'll back off if you say no thanks. Do not drink the tap water and ask for filtered water stations (I also stuck with beer & wine versus mixed drinks with ice). A group from my hostel rented E-bikes which was the right choice to visit Bluff Beach, which made for a great afternoon.

Right now the streets are under construction…. And I mean ALL the streets. It’s tough on the tourism industry for that reason. There may not have been as many people visiting as there normally would be at that time of year. However, don’t let that stop you from going. It’s a fantastic place to visit. So much to se and do. Excellent restaurants.

Marjorie's apartments are perfect for a stay in Bocas del Torro. The accommodation is about 4 km outside of Bocas Town, which is why I rented a bike (super easy) to be able to move around more flexibly. but there are also cafes and beaches nearby that you can walk to or take a cab (I just preferred the bike). Every morning started with a homemade coffee in the hammock on the terrace - could be worse ;). I can recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a quiet place that is out of town on the main island.

The facilities and architecture are 10/10! Felt like we where in Bali, amazing place to disconnect, surf and relax. The hotels location is a bit off the crowd of bocas town, which is great, and right in front an amazing surf peak. the yoga studio and spa were super nice as well. rooms were clean and adequate. food quality was good, but since the hotel is far from the city the menu could have been more extensive. we ended up ordering sushi and pizza for delivery and going out just because the menu got boring

This is a fantastic BnB, well located a 20 minute walk out of town, quiet and peaceful with a lovely deck looking out on the water. There’s a well equipped kitchen, great & well maintained social areas (hammocks, board games etc), comfortable rooms and clean bathrooms with hot water. What makes the property really special though is Marco and the team. They gave us the friendliest welcome we’ve had travelling south/Central America, cooked us delicious breakfasts and were generally very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was delicious; the fresh fruit, strong coffee and healthy eggs! I did not like that cabins are on the water taxi highway and were constantly noisy. Additionally, there was a nearby disco in Bocas Town that blared music until 1 or 2 am that kept me awake. Also, I was expecting to be able to snorkel off the d class as was advertised, but the water always looked too dirty and rough.

Great central location in Bocas Town. Sea view room was great. Only gave it an 8:10 this time because they are doing construction on the ocean-side which made sitting on the deck from 9 am to 6 pm unpleasant. We understood before checking in. Next month starts high season and now that covid restrictions are less they can finally have workers at the properties.
