We use the hotel for just one night due to living about 60 miles away. Always seem to be on the early morning flight out of MTJ, so for location, parking, and the great staff, we will always stay at the Hampton Inn Montrose.

What really distinguishes the Montrose Hampton Inn is the caring and helpful staff. Checking in and out was a breeze. Breakfast items were restocked constantly, and the tables were cleaned rapidly to allow other guests to use them. The unexpected sometimes happens, and the staff rose to the challenge. We forgot a set of keys and a camera battery charger in our room when we departed early in the morning. We got a call from the hotel staff later that day to let us know that the items had been retrieved, and the keys and charger were promptly mailed to our home address. We were impressed, thankful, and pleased. Great staff work!

I enjoyed the town of Montrose having never been there.
I enjoyed the town of Montrose having never been there. Close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison where we hiked for two days. We also took a half day trip to the town of Ouray.
Enjoyed the Mi Mexico restaurant just up the street. Viewed an afternoon movie at the San Juan Cinema. WE scored in that it was Wednesday which happened to be $5 Wednesday. Saw Top Gun 2 for $5.

Montrose is a mid-sized community with access to the chains you are accustomed to at home.
The town is very close to the orchard areas on the western slope of Colorado. I made the trip to purchase Palisade peaches and ended up taking home Colorado Bing cherries, Olathe Sweet Corn, and Rocky Ford Cantalope! All were amazing!
It is very close to Grand Mesa which has very good fishing and to Gunnison with it's large reservoir.
The climate in August was warm but since I went up from New Mexico not any warmer than what I was experiencing at home.
There is a very good Italian restaurant, Pahgre's, in town and the Fettuccine Alfredo was amazing. I think they may even make their own noodles. The service was great and the staff amazing!

After one night we decided to leave and the RED ARROW INN ONLY CHARGED FOR THE ONE NIGHT BUT WE HAD booked they Bookings.com and we still had to let them know that the Red Arrow and wasn’t going to charge us for the 2nd night. Getting hold of them is very difficult on mobile apps. We filled out the info and submitted it but who knows what will happen !!
On check-in, the employee didn't look at me or say anything but "license and credit card." We checked in at 8:30pm, and there were lots of people just hanging around the parking lot. The room was fairly clean. Breakfast was walmart fruit bars ,English muffins, and bananas. Very poor. The pool was empty with some standing black water . This place seemed like a long-term hotel for some. Felt unsafe.
There was an hour and and a half detour getting there at night time and we called the hotel for directions at one point. The staff reassured us we were on the right track and gave us further driving instructions. The front desk staff was patient and responsive. They made us feel welcome, appreciated as patrons and provided excellent service during our stay.
Reasonable value for money stay given some of the pricing around in 2022 - the room was pretty small, and simply appointed but clean enough. The facilities were pretty dated - the fridge was falling apart with shelves inside broken, and it froze all of our food which was a bummer. The hotel was a bit dated, but fine for a single night stay.
The bungalow is centrally located for exploring Montrose, and close to Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. The beds were comfy, especially the pillows! The bathroom towels were so large and fluffy! Although it was just the 2 of us, there is plenty of room for a family. The home was clean and the decor is perfect for the style of the home.
All the staff was amazing! They were so accommodating. We had broke down on our trip and didn't make it to the hotel until around 8:30am and the front desk did an amazing job at making sure we got into a room and was able to get much needed rest from such a long night! I thank them for accommodating us when I know they didn't have to!
Nice location on ranchette between Montrose and Ridgeway. Farm animals and horses to visit with and feed. Dogs took us on a walk around the property's trails. Very attentive owners. Comfortable room with a view and fine made to order breakfast.
The room was very large, bigger than a typical hotel room. It was clean with a nice area to sit outside. They offered a simple breakfast with serval choice. And walking distance to several good restaurants, one right in front of the hotel.
I have been to Montrose for 2-4 nights each year, for many years. In recent years, StayWise has been my 'go to' motel. The rate has been competitive or better than others. The facility is reasonably modern. The room is quiet at night.
We stayed in a remodelled room with 2 queens. Very comfy and quiet. You can park in front of your room and there is no second floor (no neighbors above). Key code for late arrivals. Good value for money at Montrose.
We really appreciated the area of town. It was around many restaurants and close to the things that we traveled to see. There was also plenty of parking so we had no issues parking near the hotel.
Breakfast in a bag was convenient and appreciated
We went to town to Colorado Boys Brewery and that was a fun experience. Montrose is a nice town and we felt safe
The rooms were spacious, beds were good, the prepared breakfast was as expected and the hotel was in a very nice area. There is also a spacious common room.
