Because of safety issues, we were advised to avoid downtown Jo-burg which we only saw through car windows. We did tours of the Apartheid Museum and Soweto and found both of these very worthwhile. Fourways is a good area to just take a minute for a quick breakaway. There are a few accommodation options with varying prices to fit any budget. Places to eat are close by and affordable. Once settled in, we easily visited Melrose Arch, Sandton, Midrand, Rosebank, Auckland Park, Melville, Joburg Zoo & CBD, Bryanston, and Soweto. The staff at MT Perry were so welcoming and friendly. All the required self-catering tools, Wi-Fi, DSTV were available and fully functional.
