I was in Rio de Janeiro for a week and wanted a place not too expensive, from where I could visit the city : it's near the Lapa neighborhood who's a place to see, there are groceries and restaurants nearby, etc. And for the most touristic places of the city, I went by taxi. I also wanted a place where I could have some calm for working on my computer : I stayed many afternoon on the balcony, it was perfect, sunny but not to hot and really quiet (as for the nights). The owner is really nice and makes you feel at home. For me, it's a great place for backpackers with low budget who wants to visit Rio and stay in a less-touristic area than Copacabana.

I loved the reading room off the dining room, the comfortable lounge area, the big windows in the bedroom that opened onto the. balcony & view. The breakfast was excellent!
