Set in Chengdu, 2.3 km from Tianfu Square, Moonlight Hotel features views of the city. The English-speaking receptionist was very helpful. The hotel is located conveniently close to subway line 3, which takes you directly to the Panda base. It is also near plenty of restaurants. It faces the river, for pleasant riverside walks. Even though it also faces a heavily-trafficked avenue, I didn't hear a noise from my room.

Located in Jinjiang District in Chengdu, Crowne Plaza Chengdu is close to Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, Chunxi Road shopping streets and IFS. The only thing that I didn't like was there was almost no internet access through VPN. When I asked about it, one of the front desk man told me in official language that this hotel establishment forbids the use of VPN as per government law, and I was trying to break the law, again in very official language. He also said foreigners like me have to buy tickets for the Panda base visit. I spent 110 yuans on 2 tickets, only to find out that I am free to enter there because I am 76 years old already. I have mentioned this indigence to the front desk but there were no response at all.
