The room was big, amenities complete, there was even a huge projector. Location very close to Kunming train station.

Breakfast was very nice ,and comfortable hotel and with a request from me to a higher level, they didn’t hesitate to upgrade me which was a wonderful experience, from a lady who speak English with a beautiful smile and friendly. I wish I remember her name.

A fruit plate was left for us when we arrived. That was a nice touch. It's a newer hotel, so expect it to be large, and is connected to the Marriott next door (actually, they are the same building, but with separate check-in desks. Ours was to the far right as you enter the building.

IU Hotel Kunming Xishan Wanda Railway Station is located in Kunming, 1 km from Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center. Good place to stay, with a 20 minutes walk to the central railway station in interesting areas, many parks nearby, and a big shopping mall approx 5 minutes by taxi. Restaurants and shops nearby and really a non-touristic area, that suited me very well. The positions on booking.com wee not correct, two taxitrips were needed to find the hotel, but once there, everything was ok. Remember to bring cash! ATM 10 minutes away.
