The Fontenay, Designhotel des Jahres 2023 und 2024 is a 5-star hotel situated on the shore of the Alster Lake in Hamburg, within walking distance of the famous shopping area at Jungfernstieg. Great location, beautiful rooms, we enjoyed the pool with the nice view. Breakfast was really superb as well, and all the staff were very professional, friendly and super helpful.

So too the breakfast room. The location, close to the train station, is very convenient and the neighbourhood very pleasant. The staff, as well, were all very pleasant. The university is close by, so shops and services such as reasonably priced restaurants and a laundromat were within reasonable walking distance.
