This stylish 4-star hotel is 400 metres from London Victoria Station and the Gatwick Express. The modern air-conditioned rooms have free internet access, minibars, flat-screen TVs and DVD players. We were three women on a gals trip to London so we were doing all the touristy sites in and around Westminster. We chose the Tophams Hotel for its location - walking distance to Buckingham and Westminster Abbey and Parliament. The price was 200 pounds cheaper a room than the other hotels we were considering. The only - warned - issue is the lack of breakfast restaurant as it is under renovation, however you are told this when booking and complimentary tea/coffee and pastries are provided and they are excellent as well as the woman who served us everyone morning. I didn't get her name but she was so cheerful and accommodating! Regarding the staff EVERYONE from the front desk to the cleaning staff were polite, welcoming and accommodating. Ask and you shall receive! The hotel itself is on a lovely quiet street in the Belgravia neighborhood. All our rooms were clean comfortable and well appointed. The common areas of the hotel were chicly appointed with a mix of modern and antique furniture and decoration. We would definitely return to this hotel and will recommend it to others.
