Comfy room, quiet street, tasty breakfast and very helpful staff. They went above and beyond to help me retrieve a lost item which was not their concern. This is an exceptional hotel, a beautiful old house, able to give the living experience of life 150 plus years ago without skimping on mod cons. The decorations and attention to detail both in the room and all throughout are outstanding and very traditional Mexican. Beautiful inner courtyard maintained with great care. Very good mattresses. Staff are super helpful and offered to order any foods we might like to be delivered. The en-suite bathroom featured a lovely big shower cubicle with a more reliable abundant water and temperature regulatable shower than found in many more modern European hotels. Located within easy walking distance to Tlaquepaque centre, which is rightly famous for its colourful markets and ambience. We liked it so much we stayed an extra night, and the following day got to meet the owner, a gourmet chef of pre-hispanic Maya and Aztec Mexican cuisine who takes hospitality very seriously and had us dine in his restaurant and took us to the centre of Guadalajara in his car, giving us plenty of touristic guidance plus a complementary bottle of Tequila! A great experience all round!
