We liked everything about Quintal de Areias— the staff and owners are very welcoming and kind, the rooms are clean, the food is great, and it’s very close to the dunes of Lencois. I don’t think we could have chosen a better place to stay. The owner helped us book everything from the car ride from São Luis to the town, the tours of the dunes, etc. This made everything so much easier since we (unfortunately) don’t speak Portuguese and it would have been difficult to book those logistical things on our own.

The staff is extremely helpful - all the tours we did were arranged through the pousada. They also arranged a car with a guide/driver for our nocturnal trip - star gazing in Lençóis is an amazing experience when the sky is clear. The grounds are great to relax after spending the days on the dunes. Food options are limited but the food is great - traditional Brazilian food /hey, we're in the middle of nowhere!/. There is a friendly dog who lives on the grounds and we loved giving it some pets :)

Lovely place. Friendly owner. They have someone cooking at the pousada that makes food just as good as anyone outside for a more affordable rate. I also wanted to mention how generous and welcoming they are. I asked about shampoo because we hadn’t taken any and the owner offered to give us from his personal shampoo. This is the kind of generous people that own the place. I recommend. Also take a tour with who they recommend, can’t go wrong with them too

The hosts were very accommodating and helped us book the best tours in the Lencois. The restaurant was good and fairly priced. The pool and the pool house was an oasis of relaxation after a long day.

Friendly staff, good breakfast, transportation to and from restaurants, close to park entrance, they let us come back and get cleaned up before we left the pousada, beautiful flowering plants and trees throughout the property.

The guy running the place is really nice (even though I couldn’t understand Portuguese well). He let us stay in our room after checkout so we could do a morning tour and shower afterwards - this was very helpful. I initially had my doubts about the air conditioner/fan, but in the end they kept us plenty cool at night. Decent breakfast with fruit, bread, cake, tapioca, juice, and coffee (eggs would have made it even better!). Wifi worked well enough in our room as well. Unlike other reviewers who complained about cold water, I’m actually happy water was cold because it helps cool you off. I can’t imagine why someone would want to take a hot shower there. Overall good value option compared to others which seem unreasonably expensive.
