The location of the guest house was excellent. Coonoor town itself is quite hectic but while the guest house is only a few minutes drive away it is much calmer. A couple minutes walk away is an amazing large park (sims park) which as well as being great for adults has a large children’s park which our son enjoyed playing with the local children in. The manager is super helpful and friendly. All the staff enjoyed entertaining our son as he played outside. The communal seating and dining table were perfect for relaxing in the evening. One night I watched a big football match on my iPad using the WiFi with no problems. Food and drinks were prepared whenever needed and were both good quality and reasonably priced. We did a tour of the local sights and took the train to Ooty. This train is famous and the main reason we wanted to visit the area but we found it to be a great place to visit for so many other reasons too. The manager organised us a good car and driver to take us all the way to Mysore when we left. He even arranged for the driver to collect us with all our luggage and then drop us at the train station so we could enjoy the mountain railway to Ooty leaving all the bags in the car. When we arrived in Ooty the car was waiting for us to take us to Mysore. We will definitely return in the future if we pass this way again.

Excelente todo! El lugar es hermoso, tomar el té por la mañana en el jardín es muy lindo, las habitaciones muy espaciosas y con cama muy cómoda, la ubicación es perfecta aunque si hay que caminar por el bosque unos 15 - 20 minutos para llegar a la zona concurrida pero eso nos encantó porque se disfrutan los paisajes, además queda muy cerca un restaurante en un jardín de té el cual cierra hasta noche por si no alcanzaste a cenar en el hotel, la comida del hotel es DELICIOSA y muy tradicional India, el chef salía a preguntar si estábamos satisfechos con ello lo cual nos pareció un gran gesto, el servicio y atención del personal maravilloso, aunque sólo el gerente habla inglés, todos siempre están dispuestos a ayudar y brindar una agradable sonrisa.

The incredible staff....could not do enough for us. The stunning views and the lovely big room. It's very nicely set up for privacy. Bed very big and comfortable. Also loved being able to sit at the balcony and watch the Nilgiri birds and other wild life. Great spot for trekking, riding a motorcycle around the tea plantations and winding roads . or just chilling. The hosts also make delicious homely local food which you can pre order in the afternoon.

From the moment we arrived at Xanadu we fell in love with the location of the property. The whole of Nilgiris was just before our eyes with all the clouds and the lovely weather.

The location is excellent, with an all round view of the valley below. Good dining facilities at the original Old English heritage cottage. Good caretaker Suresh and the cook. Excellent host and owner Mr Yusuf. Very well located with good hotels, bakeries, etc within walking distance. Sim's park and railway station located close by. Serene environment.
