I have travelled all over the world, visited many many cities and stayed in all kinds of hotels. Generally I don't write reviews for hotels as I find them mostly fine, though nothing extraordinary to write about. However, I feel compelled to write a review for Rock Castle Residency of Leh due to the exceptional hospitality of the hosts. The room we got was fine - spacious, clean, and with a large comfortable bed. The balcony of the room had a superb view of the neighbouring hill and of the mountains further away. The guest house had a cute dining hall where the chef's dishes are very much like home cooked food - simple, fresh, tasty. But what delighted us most about the place were the gracious, warmhearted and helpful hosts. Family run and managed by individuals including Rigzin, Nordom and Prince, we felt absolutely at home during our stay. In fact, we had issues with acclimatizing for 3 days, and I had to take oxygen support during the nights. Rigzin and team helped us with everything, and without any hesitation accomodated our requests for extending our stay in Leh and then also cancelling the remaining stay without penalties when we decided to bail out and return to Delhi. They fed us delicious meals made from vegetables grown in their own garden, and even brought tea and meals to our room (against their house policy) when I was not feeling well. We weren't able to explore Ladakh fully this time, but if I ever come back to Leh I would most definitely stay at Rock Castle Residency only.

Spent a few weeks traveling central India in the middle of summer. Arriving in Leh was a breath of fresh air. Much quieter than anywhere I had been thus far in India. Reminded me very much of Tibetan regions in China and parts of Nepal in the North near lower mustang, Annapurna. Lhachik Guesthouse was truly a blessing in disguise. Ended up staying in the guesthouse way longer than I intended. A few days at the beginning I had to stay at other guesthouses because fully booked. Was happy to come back :D The view from the terrace every morning for sunrise before breakfast was amazing. Ate breakfast and dinner at the guesthouse almost everyday. If you ask ahead they can change up the meals a bit if you stay longer than a few days :D Breakfast usually around 8am and dinner 8pm. Make sure to ask a few hours or the day before. Felt like a home away from home. The guesthouse is not far from the center, about 20 minute walk. If you need you can find taxis near center. There is a cafe 5 minutes away if you want to do some work or change things up. The wifi worked perfect, only a few hours one day it was off, but so was every other place in the area. Perfect guesthouse if you are a digital nomad, good view, quiet, very respectful guests stay here. A few families came with their kids as well as young travelers. Many people from France, some from Germany, Belgium, Israel, Italy, the US . The host helped arrange taxis to some of the trail start heads like Skiu for Markha Valley. Highly recommend for couples, families or solo travelers who want a bit of peace between treks and exploring the region, away from the noise of the center and for those wanting to experience Ladakh culture :D

Loved the room. It was really spacious and clean and wonderful light through all the windows. Yang was always available and very helpful with giving advice and organising taxis, etc. The food was delicious. Home-made and really fresh and reasonably priced. The location was also great, especially if you're someone who does not like to be in the hub but was only a 20-25 minute walk to the bazaar.

During my stay at Naazh Guest House in Leh, I was thoroughly impressed with both the excellent location and the exceptional service provided by the staff. The location is very close to the Leh Main market, just a 5 minutes walk. And, the staff helped us with booking both my room and taxi to various other destinations across Ladakh like Nubra, Pangong etc. Their knowledge and helpfulness in arranging taxis to explore the region made my trip truly memorable. I highly recommend Naazh guest House for its convenient location and the outstanding hospitality provided by its staff.

Set in the Karzoo away from the touristy area but a short walk to everything. Very peaceful with a lovely garden and fabulous owners. A true Homestay. We had the corner balcony room with a view of the Leh monastery. Try their delicious home cooked food made from what they grow. Highly recommend.
