First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

Very warm bed. The house was pre-warmed, which was wonderful on a cold night. Despite traditional walls, it was well insulated inside. Definitely the highlight of our trip! Telling ALL our friends. Soooo worth the trip outside of the main path. Met the host in the morning and she was super kind in helping us understand the property's history, local history, and area.
