We were thrilled by the artful attention to every aspect of the accommodation (inclusive of welcoming letter; flowers in the living area and bathroom; farm milk in the fridge; complimentary sherry; lindt chocolates on the bedsides) but far beyond all the personalised touches, was the location of our bungalow perched above a virgin afro-montayne forest with a zig-zag path descending to a mountain stream and a superbly crafted timber swing bridge. Our stay was pure romance.

Our stay at Cliffhanger Cottages was incredible and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The attention to detail left us wanting for nothing and we were absolutely blown away by the views, visible from everywhere in the cottage, including the shower! The braii on the balcony & watching the sunset over the mountains are truly highlights of a wonderful trip on the garden route. Close enough to Knysna for shops etc. but distanced enough to fully immerse and hear nothing but nature. Some amazing hikes nearby with waterfalls and streams to bathe in during the summer months. Had the best stay at Tonquani. The apartments are big, modern & clean with everything you’d need. The grounds are beautiful and the swimming pool is perfect for relaxing around. Shannon is a wonderful host with advice and recommendations of the local area. Not only did she provide us with a cot for our baby but also a baby chair, bath and box of toys for him. We were sad we couldn’t stay longer!

The staff is so wonderful, the rooms are beautiful, clean and modern, loved the bath with all bath supplies to make it a romantic experience. The free drinks (yes!), heated and large pool, comfortable beds, great view, good location..

A lovely peaceful place that looks like a lodge from African movies. The setting of the lodge is absolutely stunning, you can have lovely sunset walks into the lagoon. We received a better room than we booked (it had a view into the beautiful garden). The owners are very nice and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and very nicely served. We had a very comfortable sleep, beds are comfortable.
