Located in Taverne, 10 km from Lugano, Motto del Gallo is a refurbished house from the 15th century, offering a restaurant awarded with 15 Gault Millau points. An absolute gem in Ticino! Exceptional restaurant, very kind host and an accomodation restored with love and great attention. The annex building I was staying in was full of historical furniture, well equipped and very cozy. Degustation menu at the restaurant is an absolute must. Will come back with great pleasure!

Villa del Sole Garni is located in Ponte Tresa, a 20-minute walk from Lake Lugano. It offers accommodation with kitchenettes and terraces, overlooking Monte di Varese and Malcantone. Everything was amazing. Our hosts were very friendly and kind. Beautiful and clean room with a great terrace. Homemade confiture that was served with breakfast from fruit grown on the property was the best I’ve ever had.

Located in the centre of Tesserete, the family-run Ristorante Stazione is just 50 metres from Tesserete Train Station. Fantastic place. For sure simpler than a big name hotel but super friendly, clean and comfortable. For me it was the perfect place to stay in a beautiful area. Super happy.

Osteria Garni Americana is located in Lugano-Cadempino, 5 km from Lugano’s city centre and 3 km from Lugano Nord/Ponte Tresa motorway exit. Free WiFi is available. The host is kind, caring, and very helpful, having helped us to move around Lugano with good indications and suggestions. Clean and spacious room. Delicious breakfast, too! Nice coffee and homemade jam. Ostia Americana overlooks Lugano not far from the city center (5 minutes by bus), in a quiet place.
