Straven Guesthouse ตั้งอยู่ในเอดินบะระ ห่างจากหาด Portobello Beach ไม่เกิน 100 ม. Chris and Sinead were incredible hosts and made us feel at home from check-in. The breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to each day. It was restaurant quality (wife asked for a recipe) and the soft background music (personal note here) was spot on. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The property is located near a bus stop, so getting around isn’t an issue. Lastly, it’s a 2 minute (max) skip down to the beach. It’s one block away.

The room was clean and with all the necessary equipment. Hairdryer was provided upon my request for the whole length of my stay. It was great value for money as it was <80€/night for a single room. Kettle with some tea bags, shortbreads and milk was a nice addition to get a warm cuppa before sleep. Thanks to lovely hosts for this wonderful experience!

Lorna was an amazing host. In general, accommodation around Edinburgh is quite expensive so we found this place which was relatively affordable compared to other places and had a high rating. It is a house-turned-b&b, has 3 small rooms and a nice small dining room. Everything was super clean and Lorna was the friendliest host we have ever met. She gives you a small form to fill every night to get your breakfast preferences and time to eat. Her cooking is lovely. Definitely recommend her full Scottish breakfast with Haggis. She cooked the best haggis out of the 3 restaurants we tried. The only downside was that the place is quite far from the city (45 min bus ride - take X27) and there is only one bus that goes there but if you catch it and don't mind the travel time, it is definitely worth a stay.

Set 1.1 km from Butterfly & Insect World, Glenarch House is in Dalkeith and features a garden and a terrace. The accommodation is 2.1 km from the Dalkeith Country Park. Beautifully presented, comfortable and well appointed. The hosts were extremely responsive and welcoming. Lovely place to stay, would definitely recommend and would stay again!
