All the buildings are connected by boardwalks and transport to and from Rio Dulce is by a cheap (25Q return trip) boat. Free kayaks are available to explore the marsh (can't take them all the way to town). All the staff are friendly - the owner, Jonathan, booked my shuttle to La Ceiba, Honduras, for 460Q. The on site restaurant is pretty cheap and everything I had was delicious. Rooms are comfortable with mosquito nets (there are plenty of bugs!!). The dog, Marsha, is aptly named and adorable - she's a little afraid of thunder and will follow you into your room to hide. Careful of the young cat, I left my earphones on a table and within seconds she'd ripped them apart! Thoroughly recommend staying here!

He just finished the new porch overhang the day before my arrival! I really liked the rustic feel of the home, and how private it was. I was the only one on the property during my stay. I stayed in the private room, but took a look upstairs at the loft. There are multiple beds in an open floor layout, with mosquito netting to ensure a comfortable sleep. There are kayaks available for a small extra fee, making getting around on the river very easy - especially if you have friends nearby, would like to visit the thermal waters, or grab dinner at Restaurante Viajero. Julio also has a well stocked kitchen if you will be doing your own cooking, as well as an EcoFilter water purifier. Loved my stay! Thank you Julio and your family for making me feel welcome.
