Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. I loved everything about this place. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

Offering quiet street views and a shared lounge, Guest House Motomiya is set in the Magome district of Nakatsugawa, 20 km from Enakyo Wonderland and 40 km from Japan Taisho Village. A spacious and beautifully decorated Japanese-style room.  Meals at the level of Michelin stars.  The food is delicious to the mouth and to the eyes as well.  A welcoming hostess.  Breathtaking view.  What else does a person need to have fun?  We really enjoyed staying here.

Featuring mountain views, Guest House Hinode offers accommodation with free bikes, a garden and a shared lounge, around 2.6 km from Takayama Station. It was very clean and cozy. The host was very friendly and accommodating.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. Perfect location and they made reservations for us for a nearby restaurant

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, Guesthouse Gifu SUAI is situated in Gifu, 29 km from Nagoya Castle and 30 km from Nagoya Station. The location might seem a little far from the train stations, but the host offered afternoon pick up and morning drop off services. (If you don't have a lot of luggage to carry, the walk is easy enough too.) I saw information that guests can rent a bicycle now too, although I didn't ask about that. The room and bathroom had everything I needed. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming (and spoke English too), and the facilities were clean and comfortable. As mentioned in the information, they do have pets, but don't let that scare you off if you aren't a pet person -- the animals didn't seem particularly interested in the guests anyway.

Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Tajimi Guest House is set in the middle of nature, 3 km from Tajimi Station. The property was beautiful and thoughtful. The mid-century furniture and beautiful ceramics on display made the accommodation feel very peaceful and homely. The doors opened up onto a peaceful garden with a creek running through it. Will definitely return next time we are in Japan. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. The location of the hostel is pretty close to the station and very convenient. In the lobby, they offer warm Japanese tea for free. And the public area is also comfortable and can communicate with other travelers if you want. The room and bed are clean and warm, with tatami usage and traditional Japanese style. It is a special experience. The hostel owener is also friendly, and kind to offer detailed tourism information for the traveler. Wonderful accommodation memory! :)

A 6-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station, 力車イン Rickshaw inn offers non-smoking Japanese rooms and Western rooms with free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and a private bathroom. A free-use kitchen is on site. This liitle inn has characters. The amenities, cleanliness and location are excellent.

Attractively set in the centre of Takayama, ROMANSTAY offers a balcony, air conditioning, free WiFi and flat-screen TV. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.

Set in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland, GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA offers air conditioning. Kenda, the owner was very nice and helpful arranging our accomodation. House was equiped with kitchen aminities with spices, juice and drinks. There was washing machine with dryer with enough amount of detergent capsules. This helped us to wash and dry our cloths.
