It is also one of the most comfortable beds and softest blankets I've had and you will have to work to leave the bed because it's so soft and comfy.

The common space is big and comfortable. The host is really nice, and we were very grateful when she gave us a ride. (the bike location center or supermarkets are a 45 min walk, add 5 min for the ferry to go to Onomichi centre). The traditional japanese room is quite big, with view on the sea. If you have a car this is a perfect place to stay. 100% would come again!

The nearest airport is Iwakuni Kintaikyo Airport, 46 km from Roku Hostel Hiroshima. The staff was really accommodating, it's a family-run business and I got a chance to meet both mother and daughter. They could both speak really good English, and were very nice to talk to. I think you can easily realize that the hostel has a bit of a unique style: simple, nothing fancy but really cozy. Great initiative to offer one free drink per night at the bar by the front desk. It creates a cool atmosphere also with other guests. Also, they offer ear-buds, ear-plugs, toothbrush. I was also happy to find shaving gel. I would have easily spent more than one night and I would recommend everyone to stay at Roku! Nice location, walking distance to the main attractions, and close to JR train station and tram stop.

The owners were kind and friendly. There were lots of Japanese artifacts and traditional Japanese games to play on a table with a heated rug underneath. Sadly we only stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. There was a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities.

You can still see how new everything is (to my understanding, the building was finished in Feb 2024), it supports a community life but at the same time, you have your privacy as well. The design is astonishing and the bed is super comfortable with luxurious blankets. Love it! I would pay the money for this accommodation again. (Also it is in the middle of the Shimanami Kaido route, which makes this place a perfect stopover.)
