The owner has an excellent taste for interior design. Everywhere there is beautiful art in combination with traditional Japanese style country house. Just beautiful.

Set in Yakushima, within 10 km of Shiratani Unsuikyo and 23 km of Mount Miyanoura, Yakushima Park Guesthouse offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property as well as free... I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic Hidekazu-san was as a host. He was invaluable in offering tips and suggestions for my 2 night stay on Yakushima island. The location was quite centrally as well in the Miyanoura town area. This guesthouse is a renovated standard Japanese home but it had all the amenities that one could hope for. My shoes were completely soaked from hiking Yakushima but staff there helped me dry out overnight.

Situated in Yakushima, 12 km from Shiratani Unsuikyo, 屋久の宿 たぐち features rooms with air conditioning. My room was spacious. The shared spaces are clean and well kept. The location is quiet as it is off the main road, but within walking distance to bus station and a grocery store. The owners are very friendly and offered helpful suggestions for my itinerary. I enjoyed the breakfast and dinner and strongly recommend for those looking for traditional Japanese cooking and a taste of local dishes.

It was as described and more. Our hosts were wonderful and helped us with all our enquiries and communications, and were sincere in ensuring we had a lovely time on Amami.

Offering inner courtyard views, Guesthouse Coco Garage is an accommodation situated in Kirishima, 5.8 km from Kirishima Jingu Shrine and 19 km from Ebino Plateau. Great spot close to the national park with an amazing owner. We really enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable as a group of 3. The property is very secluded and quiet while still offering a full set of facilities and plenty of space. The location is not only scenic but allows for easy access to the amazing national park. The owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this guesthouse!

Situated a 15-minute drive from Yakushima Airport, La Isla Tasse is charming accommodation housed in a large American-style mansion. The owners are very kind, and the breakfast there was awesome! The view was also impressive.

A 3-minute walk from Yakushima Airport, Tomarigi offers a bunk in a dorm room, a garden with a hammock and free Wi-Fi. This place was amazing. The atmosphere is friendly, nee-san is the most amazing host, and will help everyone plan their travels around yakushima. There's a kitchen to prepare food yourself and I highly recommend nee-san's onigiri for a day out! I love this place and will return there once I can. Stayed at 20+ guesthouses, this one is exceptional.

Situated in Ibusuki, within 46 km of Kagoshima Chuo Station and 47 km of Kagoshima Station, 39guest house features accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Very comfortable place with an awesome host in a quiet area. A free bicycle made everything in Ibusuki close and the host gave me a ride when I needed one. The stay made me feel at home and would be spacious enough for a full house. I extended my stay 2 times and keep this place in mind as one of the most heartwarming. The interior, kitchen utensils and washing machine were also very useful. Thank you so much for having me :) I had a great time!
