The view was amazing, you can see the mountain from the yard. Also you can see the ocean from all the three rooms. It was great experience for us to found this property available. We loved this secluded cottage in the woods by a rushing river. The hand built cottage with pine interior is comfortable and has all one needs in a mountain cottage. It is quite spacious and relaxing. The owner Sato-san is friendly and helpful. We had a great week. One does need a car, but then that's really helpful anyway to get around Yakushima to the trails, etc. A perfect place to avoid the crowds.
