Hakuba Matata Lodge, homestay sa Hakuba

Set within 44 km of Nagano Station and 45 km of Zenkoji Temple in Hakuba, Hakuba Matata Lodge features accommodation with seating area.

Location of the lodge was great, easy walking distance into Echoland and a snow shuttle bus stop not far from the front door. The lodge is well appointed and the family room is very accommodating. Breakfast was great served in the lounge area which was available for use at any time with complimentary tea/coffee. The owner was so helpful with suggestions and tips prior to our arrival and the staff looking after the lodge were so friendly, very helpful and extremely customer focused. I would highly recommend the lodge.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights while snowboarding in Hakuba, and it was perfect! Our room and the facilities were always immaculately clean and they supplied us with everything we needed for our stay. It was also in a great location - quiet, yet close to the bus stops, shops, restaurants, etc. However, what made our visit the most memorable were the incredible hosts. They were the sweetest little couple! They were so warm and welcoming, and you could tell how much pride they put into their beautiful Inn. We can't wait to come and stay here again! Next time we will be bringing all of our family and friends too!

Location was great, beside a bus pickup spot and also next to another hotel with a public onsen. Room was clean with plenty of room. Breakfast was humble and delicious. Osamu-san was friendly and nice enough to pick us up for arrivals.

The evening meals were a highlight of my stay, each night presenting a delicious array of traditional Japanese dishes that were both a delight to the taste buds and a homage to the local cuisine. The dedication to authenticity and quality was evident in every bite, and it was an absolute pleasure to dine there each evening. The comfort of the beds deserves a special mention. I enjoyed restful nights of sleep, waking up refreshed and ready to explore the nearby attractions. Speaking of which, the location's proximity to the Sanosaka ski resort was perfect for me. This lesser-known gem provided ample opportunities for skiing without the crowds, enhancing the enjoyment of my winter sports experience. Additionally, the offer of transportation to other ski resorts in the area was a thoughtful touch that allowed for effortless exploration of the region's diverse slopes. The charm of the house, with its older architecture, added an element of enchantment to the stay. It felt like stepping into a cozy, historical haven that provided a unique contrast to the modernity of everyday life. This, combined with the exceptional hospitality and the serene location near the Sanosaka ski resort, made my stay an unforgettable experience.

Comfortable room, floor heating. Great location and parking on premises. Close to restaurants and the station. Owner was incredibly responsive and accommodating. They received our snowboard gear, and placed it on our room before arrival. They provided cooking utensils and basics. Kitchen is small, but good enough for breakfast. They also maintained entrance clear of snow. Great value for money, considering how crazy prices have gone in Hakuba. WiFi was fast enough for working and doing video calls. TV had HDMI to connect to our computer and watch our favourite shows at night.

ROSSI STAR, homestay sa Hakuba

Featuring mountain views, ROSSI STAR provides accommodation with terrace, around 2.5 km from Tsugaike Kogen Ski Area.

I was traveling with three senior boys, Rossi was so friendly. His hospitality and skii competence even gave boys’ confidence. We did feel like at home. The place was steps away to bus stations, and easy access to skii places, and several onsen either private or open-air ones. Rossi star was extremely clean, very well maintained, elegantly decorated like a Scandinavia cottage. One night my friend came to visit us, I borrowed Rossi’s dinning room and had a hot pot of local beef, nice chat, nice food and nice places. In general, it was a wonderful stay, will surely recommend and come back.
