A great hostel that’s accessible to beautiful hikes around the area, and is a short walk from the bus station to get around to other hikes and trails. It’s very clean and the dorm rooms are cozy and private. The free onsens are clean and amazing after a long hike. It is a bit far from restaurants or supermarket but if you prepare for it ahead it’s not an issue, and the staff are helpful with that too.

convenient location close to the castle. The host communicated everything we need to know before check in. The futons were really comfortable and the kitchen really convenient to cook a quick meal, boil water for coffee or toast breads.

Super comfortable and peaceful traditional style guesthouse with all the right modern touches. Stayed for 1 week and it felt like home. Perfect location close to everything, wifi, kitchen, beds, lounge area all good. Nice and clean too of course. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended to all travellers!

The place was spacious and cosy, and we could see the thoughtfulness of the host who provided free hand warmers, turning on the heaters before we arrived and even having reading glasses next to the reading materials for the guide to the house. Masaya was very friendly and responded quickly when we needed help.
