We booked 2 nights in the ocean front room. Nothing beats going to sleep and waking to crashing waves. The hotel is quiet. Very close but not too close to bars and restaurants. From the ferry it's about a 5min cab ride or 100-150 pesos, we ended up getting a golf cart for our stay. It's really in the perfect location to visit all parts of the island. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, firm bed with soft pillows, AC works great. Our room had a mini fridge and drip coffee machine. There are multiple boho themed sitting areas with a rooftop plunge pool where you get 360 ocean view. From the start of booking to end of stay Andrea (owner) provided impeccable service. He answers within 5mins on WhatsApp. He really takes the time in providing A+ customer service and recommendations that fit your vacation. If you're thinking of staying on isla consider staying with Andrea.

The atmosphere and the location. While others had complained it is far off the center (which is true), it is very much their own fault as you can see that from the location on the map before booking it. I personally liked to be on that less intense area and eat at and discover little, more local, places. Our room, a private double, well exceeded our expectations and was super comfy!!

África's home is clean and lovely inside and out. She's an excellent host, providing helpful recommendations whenever needed and goes out of her way to be kind. When we asked about massages she set up an in-house appointment with a fantastic, affordable massage therapist.  The beach across the street is nice and super convenient. It does get pretty crowded and loud, with people pulling up and blasting music from their cars and sometimes multiple at once. There are also many vendors who go back and forth, stopping by you each time they pass which becomes irritating. The strip along the beach has 5 or 6 spots with similar offerings, mostly seafood as well as some pizza/pasta. Plenty of drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snack options. Try the marquesitas they're delicious!  When you want to go into the main areas of town you'll have to walk a ways or take a taxi or combi (cheap transport but packed to the brim). The Isla Mujeres ferry terminal is a 12 or so minute long walk straight down the street.

The host was so nice and accommodating. He helped us coordinate transportation to and from the airport. He also helped us with booking any activities that we needed.

The host and his son are people that make you feel at home. They are super kind and you can ask them everything. You can even start a random discussion about something you would like to discuss hahaha. Great stay. Recommended for 1000%
