Came in from Texas to play basketball in the senior Olympics and I must say, this was by far the cleanest place I’ve stayed in. The rooms are very roomy nothing was falling apart or dirty. It was just the greatest experience. Staff sent a text in the morning asking if all was well, and that meant a great deal to me.

It was only a mile from Carnegie Mellon University and very clean. The interior was updated and the keypad-lock system was easy to use while also feeling secure. I hardly saw or heard the other tenants and it felt like I had the house to myself. If a bathroom was occupied, there was a second option that was easy to access.

    Carina, the host, greeted me with warmth. The properties she manages (that is, the two of which I am aware), are former private residences in Pittsburgh's Highland Park neighborhood converted to multi-guest lodging. Carina takes a lot of pride in the rooms she's designed, and she worked hard to orient me and make me comfortable on my single-night stay. She also has recommendations for a place to grab a burger and a beer on a Friday night and a breakfast of crepes on a Saturday morning. (I checked them both out. Both were very good.)

    We really enjoyed our stay at Travelers Rest! Mary-Beth and Peabody were great hosts. The central breakfast area was great for relaxing after a city trip and the hotel had a very cozy atmosphere.

    The location was really great. I throughly enjoyed being in a home with a history. I was told my room was "the master's room," a prominent lawyer in the prime time of steel. I liked the way you kept the history through furniture, decor, paintings, curtains. The staff was exceptional, courteous and proud to be part of this very special carved out hospitality. One of the most beautiful boutique hotels that I have been to. The locals also speak well of the Mansions.
