I loved arriving by boat. Using the canoes was loads of fun. Got lucky and had a great group of solo travelers with me in the dorm. The food is good and fairly priced (not dirt cheap, but worth the price).

Hostal Blood Moon ligger i Rio Dulce, 4,9 km från Bangkok Thonburi-universitetet, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård, gratis privat parkering, en gemensam lounge och en terrass. Freshly cooked pancake breakfast was included, the kitchen is well equipped and very clean. The owners are so kind and helpful, make you feel very welcome. The facilities are all well maintained and there is even a pool to take a dip in! Far enough from the main road that it is peaceful but only a 2-3 minute walk.

Casa Manatí erbjuder boende i Lívingston (Izabal), en kort bit från Ribera Rio Dulce-stranden. Julio’s cabana was newly built and very spacious. He just finished the new porch overhang the day before my arrival! I really liked the rustic feel of the home, and how private it was. I was the only one on the property during my stay. I stayed in the private room, but took a look upstairs at the loft. There are multiple beds in an open floor layout, with mosquito netting to ensure a comfortable sleep. There are kayaks available for a small extra fee, making getting around on the river very easy - especially if you have friends nearby, would like to visit the thermal waters, or grab dinner at Restaurante Viajero. Julio also has a well stocked kitchen if you will be doing your own cooking, as well as an EcoFilter water purifier. Loved my stay! Thank you Julio and your family for making me feel welcome.
