Dette var et hjemmekoselig hostell litt utenfor sentrum. Personalet var veldig hyggelig. Engelskkunnskapene var varierende, men de greide å få frem poengene de ønsket. De var svært inkluderende og ga noen få tips til hva man kunne se og gjøre utenfor Sendai. Frokosten besto av loff med syltetøy, og den ene dagen hadde de til og med laget zundapålegg (en type grønne bønner som knuses)! Beliggenheten var et lite stykke utenfor sentrum, men det var ganske kort vei å gå til toget som gikk direkte til Sendai stasjon. Inngangsdøren hadde kodelås, så man kunne enkelt komme og gå slik man selv ønsket. Personalet var også tilstede mye av dagen. Til prisen jeg betalte var fasilitetene bra, men ikke forvent et nyoppusset og høyteknologisk hostell. Det var også kiosk rett i nærheten av hostellet.

The guesthouse is in a great location, close to the pier and the temple. The room and facilities were exceptionally clean. And most importantly the host is so friendly and helpful! He speaks perfect English and was eager to talk about Japanese culture and listen about ours :) I couldn’t recommend more!

Great value for money if you want to stay in Kesennuma for a night. Location is ~30 minutes by foot from the train station or ~10 minutes by BRT (which runs to and from the station). Staff was very friendly and speaks english well enough. Facilities were clean.

Guesthouse 66 is situated in Kakuda, 43 km from Sendai City Community Support Center, 42 km from Zuihoden, as well as 43 km from Sendai Station. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The guesthouse was about a four minute walk from the train station, and an eleven minute walk to the supermarket. Hiro, the owner, was super nice and friendly ^^

Open from 2016, Traveler's Wharf Shichigahama is a 60-year-old Japanese-style accommodation with views of the sea. We absolutely loved our stay at Traveler’s Wharf Shichgahama. Taka is a wonderful host - attentive, accommodating and we really enjoyed getting to know him a little bit. He took excellent care of us, anticipating our needs and showing great hospitality. He picked us up from the train station, and advised us on activities in the area. I would highly recommend you stay here if you are looking for a quiet, low key place close to the beach.
