The design and layout of the room was creative and comfortable. Such attention to details - hooks conveniently located, lights at all the right places and all of them are dimmable from a remote control. Very clever use of space to fit in all the amenities. I enjoyed spending time in my room! The common spaces are wonderful too - a brand new pool table at the dining area. Miyu and her husband are very hardworking and talented. I feel so lucky to have been their guest. Highly recommend Koke Musu:Inn to all travellers with a sense of adventure. The inn is a short 15-min walk from the station and is just across Lake Biwa. There are many eateries nearby, as well as convenience stores and supermarkets. Perfect place to spend a few days.

Perfect location to visit the countryside of Japan. This is the real Japan with Koi carpers swimming in river-like gutters and friendly helpfull villagers. On top of this, Kyoto is only half an hour away by train. We came for a nice, relaxing place to stay but got a family who was so warm and welcoming. Mizu, the hostess of Smile guesthouse is a very kind and helpful person who speaks good English. She helped and guided us to make our stay even better. The guest house is a traditional Japanese house. Beautiful and full of details. And next to that you can eat fresh strawberries at the Tanaberry farm, which is a 8 minutes walking distance. We can recommend everyone to stay here. As we immediately extended our stay the day we arrived and are planning to definitely stay again the next time we travel to Japan.

My wife and I are not young folks anymore. The trip to the bathroom during the night was somewhat difficult for us. The bedroom was on the upper floor in the lovely traditional Japanese house. The narrow stairway was challenging for us. There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.

guest house AN is a 5-minute walk from Keihan Nakanosho Train Station and a 20-minute walk and train ride from JR Kyoto Station. I liked absolutely everything!!! Hosts are very welcoming, very kind and attentive. You have a whole Japanese style house for yourself. You can rent bicycles for a small fee. Close to the station and in a middle of residential area with beautiful Japanese houses and gardens. I saw some people complained in their comments about long introduction to the rules, but for us it was very nice too. After you learn what and how, you feel more relaxed and can fully enjoy. If I had such a house where many elements are made from wood, had tatami etc- I would also like to explain my guests how to use it. We also had breakfasts that were exquisite for a very fair price. Our hosts made us feel like at home and also made many recommendations what to visit around. I am grateful I could be welcomed in such a way and I am sorry I could not stay longer. This is definitely a place where you can stay for a longer period, visit Kyoto (30 mins by train), cycle around the lake and further, play tennis in a park nearby. All that for very nice price:)
