Situated in Rivas and only 33 km from Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua, Hostal Brisas del Ometepe features accommodation with inner courtyard views, free WiFi and free private parking. This was living with a family in their home. They treated us like family and even took us on tour around the area and to the beach. They don't have a lot but offered us everything. Marta even washed our riding gear and coffee and food were constantly given to us. This is not a 5-star hotel but the experience was 10-star. It was tough to say goodbye the following day as it truly felt like we were leaving family. We took them out for supper and had a fabulous time. If you want to experience the true way of life staying with Max and Martha is a fantastic eye-opener and a wonderful experience you won't find anywhere else.

Staff were wonderful, Rafa was very accomodating and the ladies who prepared breakfast (yum) were very friendly! Location was great, close to the main part of town (3-4 min walk) but not right in the hustle and bustle. Air conditioning in the rooms was great and a must, it is super hot in SJDS.

Don Jose took care of me and helped me decide where to go and what to do with my time. He even let me store some luggage while I spent a few nights on the Medera side.

Ananda Guest house is located on the slopes of the Maderas Volcano on Ometepe Island, 19 mi from the port of Moyogalpa. Beautiful location. Walking distance to main road with some nice restaurants within 30 mins. Information booklet in the room was helpful. Help to rent mopeds, organise transport, guides etc. The room was spacious, bed was really comfortable, hardly any creepy crawlies (this is a complaint from many of the eco lodges). Good wifi. 2 fans which was nice. Good shower pressure and temperature.

Casa Papaki is situated in Mérida and offers a garden, barbecue facilities and a shared lounge. The property has mountain and garden views, and is 4.7 km from Maderas Volcano. clean and quiet and good service

Red Pepper Popoyo Guesthouse is only 50 meters away from the beach, Offering a rooftop terrace and views of the sea, Red Pepper Popoyo is located in Popoyo, 2.8 km from Salinas. We loved that we had our own terrace with two hammocks and loved the kitchen! Also the owners are SO lovely!!

Set in Moyogalpa, Casa de Gio offers free WiFi and units fitted with a kitchenette and seating area. Some units have a dining area and/or a patio. We had the nicest stay of our 1 month trip to Nicaragua in Casa de Gio. We loved our air conditioned room and the great breakfast, but most of all it was the exceptional family who ran this great hostel that made all the difference. Couldn't recommend it more for groups, couples, or solo travellers.

Four Trees is located on a hilltop with million-dollar views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Our room was spacious and comfy. The communal kitchen is well-appointed. The wifi coverage is excellent. Poppy the dog and Blimp the cat are adorable ambassadors. Louis, Nick, and the team are friendly and extremely responsive. This is a special place to return to after a day of adventure in San Juan. It is also an incredible value.
