Location excellent, very central. Breakfast is good, love the announcement in the morning. A fabulous, unique place to stay, absolutely loved it. Simon conducting the prison tour, absolutely a story teller, made it fun, well done and thank you. Staff super polite and helpful. The hostel is clean and tidy. Showers are good. Beds comfy. Kitchen is ok to cook in.

The queen size pull out couch in the living room was the most comfortable that we have slept on. We enjoyed the breakfast with it's many choices and the coffee was good. It was nice to have fresh fruit and choices for hot oatmeal. We walked downtown Ottawa and visited Parliament, the War Memorial and the canal locks. Great location. The laundry facilities were exceptional and the staff was all very cheerful and helpful.

The tour was amazing to do to understand the history of the jail so would highly recommend doing that

Also hostel is close to metro, old part of town, parlament hill is in walkable distance. There's a front 'veranda', living room and a terrace in the back for chilling out.
