Atmosphere is very important too me. All the people that worked there were very helpful for want I needed to enjoy my self in this area of New Zealand. Also the diners may have been some of the best I ever had. It look like we were at a high class French restaurant.

I was in the backpackers accommodation and it was standard for what I was expecting - basic but everything I needed for a quick stay. Rooms were warm, beds comfy for budget prices. Showers didn't scrimp on the pressure - great for sore muscles from coming off the Hump Track. Couple of cobwebs high up here and there but generally a good standard of clean and tidy. Lovely, simple but hearty meals at the restaurant/café attached.
