Bad Goisern is a nice little quiet town to base yourself to visit Hallstatt. The hostel is close to the train station. A towel was included with the price of the stay. The showers by the kitchen were the best showers I've ever used in a hostel. Really interesting shower heads. The bed was comfortable.

Located directly at Lake Wolfgang, Jugendgästehaus Sankt Gilgen offers free WiFi and free private parking. The Zwölferhorn Cable Car is 400 metres away. The room was furnished quite nicely and very clean. Great location, free parking and good breakfast. The stuffs were friendly and helpful. Will visit again if travelling in this area.
