Please note that a daily surcharge applies to guests who are not members of the Youth Hostel Association. Beautiful surroundings, lovely pool and facilities. Room was ideal. Easy bus connection into Lugano, which was free with our booking.

The Hotel&Hostel Montarina occupies a historic Villa built around 1860, only 200 metres from the Lugano train station. It offers a park with a pool, free WiFi and a limited number of free parking spaces. Montarina is a clean, well managed low-budget hostel in the Heart of Lugano. It is located in a lovely private garden and close to the city center. Recommendable to families with younger children, young couples, singles and aging people who are still young in spirit.

The Casa Calina is a newly renovated guest house with a large garden in a quiet location in Carona, with beautiful views over Lake Lugano. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Each room at Casa Calina has its own terrace offering superb views of the mountains of Ticino, Lake Lugano and the surrounding area. 3 rooms share a common bathroom. A kitchen and dining room for the guest's use are available as well. Nice and affordable place for those who would like to enjoy the mountain and lake view from a nice yard or common balcony, cook their own food, hang out and potentially meet some people in a cozy common room.
