Offering panoramic views, Schwendihaus is located in Amden above Lake Walensee, 300 metres from the Mattstock Chair Lift. Free WiFi access is available. Amazing location. Room was small for a family and very basic, bed and bathroom. So we upgraded to the apartment which was way better, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms.

Featuring a garden, restaurant and views of mountain, Haus Bünten is located in Quinten, 49 km from Einsiedeln Abbey. I don't know if I was on a hiking high, or if this was the best hostel I've stayed in, but either way, I can't recommend it enough! The location is easily accessible from the ferry port, facilities are very clean with fresh bedding and towels ready on the bed. Picking up the keys from the security box was quick and simple. The shower pressure is great and there is a clothesline outside to dry your stuff (if you are coming back sweaty from a hike!). I only wish I could have stayed longer.
