Located on the edge of the jungle. Observation deck excellent for watching birds. A troupe of capuchin monkeys visited us on the deck after breakfast to partake their meal of bananas. Juan Carlos was very helpful arranging transport. The evening meal was delicious, Juan Carlos is a great cook.

What an amazing experience. The hostel is situated on the border of Corcovado National Park and offers a budget friendly alternative to hiking in the jungle and spotting wildlife. We saw sooo many different types of birds,insects and even a snake. The hiking trails are easy to find and well maintained. Bear in mind that you will need to trek 30 min to get to the hostel and bring enough food to cook yourself during the duration of your stay. There is no fridge, so plan accordingly.

Puntarenas bölgesindeki Pavones'te yer alan Surf Shack Pavones, Playa Pavones'e 500 metre mesafededir. En yakın havaalanı olan Golfito Havaalanı 58 km mesafededir. The location was fairly quiet as there wasn't much road traffic going by. There was AC and the shower had hot water, which my wife loved. The kitchen was an ample size and had everything we needed; even Tupperware to keep our extra food so we didn't leave it in the pans. The rooms didn't feel cramped and had shelf space to put our things. The beds we're comfy and the towels were soft. The covered common area outside the kitchen was a great place to eat and for my wife to work. We would stay here again.

The most unexpected highlight of our visit was our stay at this fantastic workaway farm. The place is a wonderland of exquisite plants and wildlife. Our hosts were simply wonderful from the moment we arrived. The cabin blends into the landscape, with open windows on all sides. The sounds and scents of the farm just filled the air and made for a very cozy hideaway. The beds were comfy and the hammock on the balcony was a real bonus. We even had a pet dog for our visit! Workers on the farm are from all over the world and provided us with excellent company and conversation during the family-style dinner we all shared in the main house. Our hostess prepared easily the most delicious meals we had during our entire tour of Costa Rica. She even prepared banana flower, which is wonderful. Unfortunately, heavy rain prevented us from exploring the farm further. But the time we did spend there was very memorable. I wish we'd had more time to stay. Highly, highly recommended.
