Andrea, the owner, was exceptionally attentive, helpful and conscientious. In addition to being an amazingly cozy and inviting atmosphere, she also explained her larger vision of reducing environmental impact (particularly on trash and water usage) and training local women as employees at a fair wage. Could not give a stronger recommendation for this hostel!

The guys who run this place put a lot of effort and heart into it. Everyone who arrived was made very welcome. Super nice people to be around this place. I also really loved Anubis, the hostel dog. Also the scenery at this place, especially on the roof, is very quiet and calming.

I ended up extending my stay and cancelling my other hostel because I loved this one so much. Everyone sleeps in either tents or tipis, but they also have single private rooms too i believe. I booked a tent and it was a very affordable price and amazing because it was like having my own private room. I had so much privacy. The location is right on the lake which provides beautiful views. They have plenty of seating / lounging areas around the property, lots of hammocks, benches, tables & chairs. In the main building they have a bar, pool table, ping pong table, and TV. Hot water in the showers. Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh fruit, bread, cofeee and a hard boiled egg. They had a kitchen communal kitchen with plenty of fridge space and cookware. Free purified water for guests. An outdoor fire pit area which was great in the evenings.

Mandalas Hostal is situated in San Pedro La Laguna and has a terrace. Free WiFi is featured. A kitchen with everything you need and a dining area. I don’t usually write reviews but this hostel deserved one! What a lovely hostel - made by the owners who are so accommodating and helpful. They really make it feel like home, and went above and beyond to sort shuttles etc for me. The beds are very comfortable and double which is a treat, I’ve never slept better in a hostel :)

Dreamboat Hostel erbjuder boende i Panajachel (Solola), 47 km från Volcán Atitlán. I am a 69 year old who was accompanied by my girlfriend 65 We were a lot older than all the other visitors we met at dreamboat Everyone was incredibly friendly. The staff reached out to us in every way possible. Their interest in us was genuine We enjoyed the company of young folks the conversations and how the owners took part of the whole scene There is a lot of partying but no one is obnoxious. And all is quiet by 9 pm
