Situated in San Juan La Laguna and with Volcano Atitlan reachable within 25 km, Chirris Hostel features a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. I liked everything - the location cannot be better, it's ten seconds away from auto stand, from the stop where chicken buses to San Pedro, San Peublo, Santa Clara pass and stop, one minute away from Central Park, one minute from market, five minutes from boat pier, two minutes away from where the bus from Antigua stops in San Juan. Plus, the best road in San Juan with beautiful lighting with umbrellas is one minute away. All in all, it's the best location in San Juan. Yet it's so quiet. Internet is excellent, my room was big and clean, staff were very sweet and helpful. Washroom is always clean, bathroom has good hot showers, kitchen is very clean with adequate utensils. There's lots of drinking water for refilling Best part of all is Andrea, the hostess, she helped me book the direct bus from Antigua to San Juan. The travel agents in Antigua only offer buses to Panajachel. It's quite a pain to have to then take a boat to San Juan with luggage. The bus that Andrea booked for me picked me up at Antigua from near, my hostel there and dropped me a few minutes away from Chirris hostel. The hostel felt perfectly safe throughout, Andrea guided me for things to do, how to do Indian nose hike on my own using public transport and even helped to book my bus from the hostel to Guatemala airport. I liked the hostel so much I extended my stay by two more days. There is a refrigerator available for use and a stove where it's possible to cook. I visited San Pedro, San Marcos and Panajachel and I found San Juan had the best vibe. And because of proximity of the hostel to the boat pier, the auto stop and bus stop, it was quite easy for me to travel to other villages from here.

Casa AHAU in San Marcos La Laguna provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and free WiFi. The guys who run this place put a lot of effort and heart into it. Everyone who arrived was made very welcome. Super nice people to be around this place. I also really loved Anubis, the hostel dog. Also the scenery at this place, especially on the roof, is very quiet and calming.

Hostal The Friends is situated in Panajachel, 47 km from Volcano Atitlan, and provides free WiFi throughout the property. Friendly staff! Lovely and clean and quiet rooms! Sweet courtyard to hang out in! Perfect location! What's not to love? I wish I could have stayed here longer.

Located in San Pedro La Laguna, 24 km from Volcano Atitlan, Gran Colibrí provides accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. I LOVED THIS HOSTEL SO MUCH!! I ended up extending my stay and cancelling my other hostel because I loved this one so much. Everyone sleeps in either tents or tipis, but they also have single private rooms too i believe. I booked a tent and it was a very affordable price and amazing because it was like having my own private room. I had so much privacy. The location is right on the lake which provides beautiful views. They have plenty of seating / lounging areas around the property, lots of hammocks, benches, tables & chairs. In the main building they have a bar, pool table, ping pong table, and TV. Hot water in the showers. Breakfast in the morning consisted of fresh fruit, bread, cofeee and a hard boiled egg. They had a kitchen communal kitchen with plenty of fridge space and cookware. Free purified water for guests. An outdoor fire pit area which was great in the evenings.

Located in San Pedro La Laguna, 24 km from Volcano Atitlan, Hotel Villa del Lago features views of the mountain. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. The place was very clean and cute.

Mandalas Hostal is situated in San Pedro La Laguna and has a terrace. Free WiFi is featured. A kitchen with everything you need and a dining area. I don’t usually write reviews but this hostel deserved one! What a lovely hostel - made by the owners who are so accommodating and helpful. They really make it feel like home, and went above and beyond to sort shuttles etc for me. The beds are very comfortable and double which is a treat, I’ve never slept better in a hostel :)

Set in Panajachel, Solola region, Dreamboat Hostel is situated 47 km from Volcano Atitlan. I am a 69 year old who was accompanied by my girlfriend 65 We were a lot older than all the other visitors we met at dreamboat Everyone was incredibly friendly. The staff reached out to us in every way possible. Their interest in us was genuine We enjoyed the company of young folks the conversations and how the owners took part of the whole scene There is a lot of partying but no one is obnoxious. And all is quiet by 9 pm

Set in San Juan La Laguna, Solola region, CASA EL ROBLE is located 25 km from Volcano Atitlan. At the hostel, all rooms are fitted with a terrace. Great experience and amazing hospitality. We loved our stay and how amazing the town was. Very awesome and safe.
