Affordable and comfortable place to stay for solo traveler.

The house is clean and very cozy. Its a place to meet new people, make friends and new connections. Moreover the owner Gaspar is fantastic. Always ready to help you with whatever you need, and a super nice guy! Most nights they offer a delicious dinner to a very affordable price! Cant wait to be back!

The hostel is beautifully designed and in a gorgeous setting. It’s a great place to relax and cozy up with a good book. There were only two other people staying when we were there so it didn’t feel like a hostel. Definitely recommend getting the dinner - it was very good and there aren’t any other nearby options. Sake tasting was fun! Like all the places I’ve stayed at in Japan, it was extremely clean.

The common area is sunny and confortable. The kitchen is well equiped. The bathrooms are clean. The beds were confortable. We had great visit recommendations from the owner ; we should have asked for recs before booking anything! Would definitely come again!

I was initially skeptical about staying at Tsugaike seeing how the "main" resorts Happo-one and Hakuba 47 are quite a distance away. However, Hai Lodge was everything that previous reviewers had said. Tsugaike is a wonderful resort with many different terrains that would satisfy most people. The place was very well-maintained and clean. Josh and Victoria were wonderful hosts. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hai Lodge and will definitely stay again next time!
