Aark House is a compact hostel located within a 5-minute drive from Gangneung Train Station (Yeongdong Line). Free WiFi access is available in all areas. Booked a dorm but the host was generous enough to give me a private room. When I extended my stay, I had to move to a shared room. Had good sleep in both rooms because beds are clean and even have curtains for privacy (in the dorm) Entire place has a homey vibe with pantry/kitchen and cute nooks / small lounge area. Host also took care of my laundry at a reasonable fee.

The communal area was lovely and well kept. The shower was very powerful which was lovely after a very cold evening. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, will be booking in the future

The owners are very friendly people who helped with a couple of tips. The guesthouse is located directly opposite the beach with a stunning walking area. There are many restaurants and shops around. There is a bus stop within a 10-minute walk that leads to Seoraksan, and it takes 15-20 minutes to get to Seoraksan itself. Their magnificent black dog leaves special emotions, which you just want to hug!

The room and the bed were even bigger than expected, the breakfast was very nice (I miss fruits since I've been living here so that was very welcome) and the lady was so sweet and helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer !
