Situated in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and with San Cristobal Cathedral reachable within 700 metres, La Abuelita Hostal features a garden, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a... I was supposed to stay for a couple of days and ended up staying for a couple of weeks. From the beginning Geovanny, Elvira and Oscar gave me a warm and welcoming feeling. They clean the bath- and washrooms on a daily basis, and while they are at it they also make your bed. There is a beautiful, big kitchen, provided with all necessary utensils (even a blender!), some herbs, coffee and tea. One of my favourite things during my stay was cooking with a bunch of other people from the hostel, like a little family. There are activities like movie night, making tacos and eating marshmallows at the fire. It is also the perfect locations for digital nomads like myself. The vibe is chill and WiFi works perfectly. You can even take you computer up to the terrace and enjoy the view of the city. I found it really hard San Cristobál because the location has so much to offer, but especially because La Abuelita felt a little bit like coming home!

Very cozy, got all you need: nice breakfast, relaxing atmosphere, hammocks, a kitchen, hot showers, lots of blankets! Plus great local staff! Would definitely go back :)

A great project with an amazing cause ran by women and queer people, offering a safe space to enjoy and be yourself!! There is a beautiful garden and they have cute cats and dogs =] Amazing breakfast included!

Casa San Cristóbal provides rooms in San Cristóbal de Las Casas near Santo Domingo Church San Cristobal de las Casas and La Merced Church. Loved that there was a heater in the room and thick blankets! It was generally quiet at night and nice to have access to a kitchen. My room was very tiny; but depending on how much luggage you have this may or may not matter.

This is a wonderful hostel, more like a bed and breakfast. Fernando is a great host. On the edge of town very near hikes, with a stream flowing along the property. Excellent breakfasts. Highly recommend.

From all the hostels I visited in Mexico, this definitely is my favourite. It's perfectly located, the market is just around the corner and to the city center it's only a ten minute walk. With Daniel (the manager) and the volunteers the hostel feels like a little community. Also the dog is extremely well treated and always happy to be cuddled! The terrace has a stunning view and is perfect for yoga in the morning! Came back three times and it definitely wasn't the last time!

Thank's to Sofia and Rebecca, her co-host. They are angels and make you feel at home. I had a problem with my credit card and Rebecca went with me at several banks and made phone calls for me. The hostel is calm, friendly and clean. Recommend at 100% thank you guys 🙏♥️
