Guests can choose to stay in a lively dormitory room or in the comfort of their own private room with a full kitchen. All rooms have access to a shared bathroom. Linen and towels are provided in most rooms. Very friendly owner who even remembered my name the next day. I loved the decor - fantastic murals in the common areas including the amazing bathrooms. Historical piano and pool table. Two separate lounges. I wish that I could post more pictures! I was impressed how my towels perfectly matched the unusual colours of the bedspread in my quiet private room. Great, probably best in Picton, location next to the shopping/high street and the ferry quai (My outside photo is a couple of minutes away). Free dessert and free basic breakfast.
Blenheim
Jack's Backpackers is offering accommodation in Blenheim. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The hostel has a garden and offers a sun terrace. Lawrelle, the Proprietress, and her family, we’re amazing!!! They treated all the guests as family and were very quick to resolve any minor issues that have arisen while I was there. the amazing family was good enough reason for me to go back next time around!!! Though the building is old, to me it’s beautiful - like all the old Victorian houses of it’s era, with the high ceiling, spacious living/dining room, a quiet nook, spacious kitchen, lots of bathrooms, and in my private & separate female dorm, we have our own bathroom, refrigerator & sets of wares & kettle!!! I like the private & detached female dorm - we all got along and most guests are on a 1-yr working holiday. Love it’s location - near the CBD and vineyards galore, since I love wines!!!! Everything is within walking distance, except most wineries, but one. Thanks a million Lawrelle and family for a wonderful stay!!!! I miss you all and all the other guests there I’ve come to know and see & interact everyday - the regulars.

Very affordable place in a great location, close to ferry harbor. Many facilities were inside, including free breakfast. Atlantis owner was always somewhere around, and we could get some travel tips. She created a family-like atmosphere. Generally, I liked the hostel atmosphere, although for some guests it may seem weird. The room was comfortable, and the beds were too.
Fantastic backpacker hostel if you are backpacking in New Zealand. Very cheap and you can meet a lot of people. Also a nice cosy place and the staff are very helpful. The selfmade free dessert on 7pm is a very sweet touch too.
The lovely lady owner was so friendly and funny it made this the best hostel I stayed in in NZ
Location very good the cost is a bit high service not crash hot this backpackers is not cheap l have been here over the years the cost jumps quite alot if you as me if l would come back here yes l would only overnight
Great location for the ferry, not far from main street. Clean, safe, comfortable.
Great location, probably the best hostel we stayed in during our trip in NZ …. Amazing freshly baked cheese scones for breakfast
Beautiful and spacious common areas, dormitory had lots of space too. Free parking and safe area close to ferry terminal
Clean and really comfortable. Great location so close to cafes and eating places. Lovely little touches for a cheaper motel, like bottled water, some sweeties in the cupboard and bikkies to go with a cuppa. A choice of English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea. Face wipes and sanitising wipes in the bathroom as well as shampoo conditioner and body wash. Towel changed daily. Great hosts. Will definitely stay there again.
It wasn’t really my cup of tea, maybe when I was in my early 20s and backpacking. Could have been cleaner! But was very cheap and is aimed at backpackers haha If you love being very social with lots of other backpackers spending time reading indoors and playing piano, then you’ll like it. But I prefer a clean warm snuggly place to come back to after a day exploring nature and outdoors. Perfect location for coming off the ferry
Nice & warmly backpacker💜 We booked bunk bed without bedding due with bedding need to spent extra few dollar. After arrival, the staff of the hostel knew that we don’t have own bedding, she automatically provide us sleeping bag as she told the day very cold and we might need it for well sleep. The small action made me very touching. Strong recommended to those would like to stay overnight at Picton 👍
