Situated in Onetangi, 300 metres from Onetangi Beach, Waiheke Backpackers Hostel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property. This hostel is definitely one of the best I've tried in a year in New Zealand! The atmosphere there is great. The staff is incredible, they put a lot of effort in the cleaning which makes the hostel super comfortable to live in. My room was big (dorm of 4), though the 2-beds dorms are quite small though. All of them have windows. Showers are huge with high pressure. It's on top of a beautiful hill, next to the most beautiful beach on the island... If you wanna play it chill for a few days, this is the hostel for you!

Had a great stay at Tawa Lodge!! The room was quaint and cosy, and also nice and warm when it was chilly outside. The view from our room was stunning and it included breakfast which was lovely to eat in the corridor and overlook the sea. The staff were nice and friendly and accommodating. Great location as only a short walk into town and to the beach (around 10 mins). Even though the bathroom was shared it was never an issue and always free when I needed it. Would recommend Tawa Lodge and I would stay here again when visiting the island!

It is very comfortable with a great layout & comfy bed. The host was lovely & came & said hello when we arrived. Great location as walking distance to Oneroa township (down a hill… but be warned, you will need to walk up it back!)

It was the best hostel bed that I have slept in, was extremely clean. Stuff was lovely they even let us have an early check in while we just wanted to leave our bags to go to beach. The facility is really well, kitchen has everything to cook, even gas bbq. There are lots of benches for outside sitting. There is a lounge with lots of games even with ukulele :) The ensuite room have a fan for summer which really worked well for us. Definetly recommended to everyone.
