Great rural alternative if you don't want to stay right in the tourist center of Valle Anton. We booked three nights and could not have been happier! The host family was really an example of panamanian hospitality, they looked after us for trips, gave us tips, and even a small tour around the neighborhood. Very sweet people. Auxi, the host, is an English teacher, so you will have no problems with communication. We loved the stay as it gave us an idea of rural panamanian life and access to more hidden spots to visit (including the 'Pozo azul', which you need to go to). Recommend!

Bodhi Hostel & Lounge is located in El Valle and features free WiFi access in all areas, a garden and barbecue facilities. Free parking is available. This is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The staff are very helpful knowing everything about all the walks and treks. There is a kitchen upstairs and downstairs which is very convenient. The outdoor area is great to chill in and they offer yoga (for a donation) and free cooked breakfast in the mornings. Lastly my favourite part is there’s quite a few friendly dogs around which is my heaven and I absolutely loved. For the people who don’t like dogs, they really keep to themselves unless you approach them to pet them.

Set in Penonomé, Hostal familiar Villa Nome offers a shared lounge. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. I have the greatest experience I could imagine. Very helpful and super nice lady. She did her best and more for us. The room was spacious and clean. So was the bathroom.
