My hosts were very warm, welcoming and quite friendly. The room was very nice; warm, cozy and quiet. I also felt quite safe. I will be happy to stay there again, if I ever return.

Simon and Jennifer
Hi! Thanks for considering Quaint & Cozy for your stay in Edmonton. Situated in historical old Glenora, we are located in the Art District with lots of shopping, restaurants and businesses within a few blocks. There are numerous art galleries all up and down 124 Street, just two blocks away. Being so centrally located we are well served by numerous buses within a few blocks. One bus will take you about a 5-minute ride to connect to the (LRT - light rail system) downtown. Other buses may take you directly to your desired location. Please be advised that we share our home with Siberian Forest cats. While they are a hypoallergenic breed, still some people are bothered by them. They have never been in the Quaint & Cozy area of our home.
Simon and I have found it great fun to host guests from all over the world. We've enjoyed many pleasant evenings on the front veranda sharing our experiences and learning from others. Simon has lived in the neighbourhood since 1949, when his family settled in Canada after WWII. They built a house on his grandfather, HME Evans' estate, Sylvancroft which was only two blocks from our home. HME Evans came out West from Toronto as Manager of the Western Canada Land Company. He was a pioneer Mayor of Edmonton (1918) and businessman. Mr. Evans built his home in Old Glenora in 1912. Most of the buildings around us were constructed then. Many of them remain as they were and are lovingly restored. The atmosphere of the neighbourhood is that of a by-gone era. Simon is a historian with so many interesting stories about the area and the province. His family were very prominent. His mother, Cicely Louise Evans, was a thrice published novelist with Doubleday NY. His aunt, Sylvia Evans was head of the Women's Airforce and First Female squadron leader in Canada. His uncle, Vaux, a brilliant mathematician with Edison Light Company. Our house is full of wonderful old antiques gleaned from Sylvancroft and gathered over the years. We enjoy chatting about history and sharing our artifacts with those who are interested. I'm Jennifer, an artist and poet. We market my poetry and artwork in various greeting card lines and other specialty gift items. I have painted many of the old grain elevators in Alberta (17 in the collection) for our Memorable Moments series. I also have painted old vintage cars from the early 1900's under the card line Vintage Vehicles. Our main line, Gracious Greetings, have sold over a million copies.
Numerous art galleries Lots and lots of restaurants within walking distance Clothing and variety stores Services - Veterinarian, Eye clinic, massage therapy, esthticians, beauticians, etc.
