Hi. I'm jill, and i can't wait to meet you! I found this incredible property more than a decade ago and lived here in the old tico house until it was basically falling apart. After my life changed, I rebuilt my hidden treasure into something beautiful i could share with folks from around the globe. I wanted to make something comfortable, lovely and fully stocked for folks who come in wanting to explore this amazing place where you can watch monkeys in our trees, pop into a local yoga class, enjoy local or international cuisine, take a kayak tour of the river, surf, swim or fish right in front of the house, or just chill out watching the sunset from the pool over the beautiful Pacific. Seemed greedy to keep it all to myself! I bake and cook a lot, so there might be unexpected bagels, sourdough bread, or breakfast if you like. And I'm learning! I just finished building in February, so everything's brand new — including my experience. But i've lived, travelled and worked around the world, stayed in tons of places, and want to share what I love.

This lovely new house is right on the ocean at the mouth of Rio Nosara. Peaceful, quiet, away from the madding crowds of Guiones and Pelada, but close enough you can walk, drive or grab a tuktuk to explore all area has to offer. Your apartment is adjacent to the pool (shared with me and your neighbor), overlooking the river and ocean. Swim in the river or ocean, explore the tide pools, or grab your board and surf empty waves right in front of your house. You can even join the local fisherman out front and catch your dinner. Come back and rinse off on our outdoor shower, relax by the pool under the shade of a majestic ceiba, make yourself an epic smoothie in your fully stocked kitchen, or chill on your couch and stare at the beautiful Pacific. Then, at sunset, grab a cocktail and marvel as the sun sets on another spectacular day. You have fans, with air conditioning in the living room and bedroom. Wifi is free and fast, with both local fiber and Starlink. Oh, and the property is solar powered, so you can enjoy light, cold drinks, and even internet when we have an outage. If you’ve never been here, or if this is your 100th visit, you’ll find something wonderful in the Boca.

We're in Boca del Rio Nosara, which is at the North end of Playa Pelada. We're at the end of a road, and have one neighbouring house. Playa Pelada (about a 15 minute walk away) has a lovely restaurant, La Luna, overlooking the ocean, or neighbouring Olga's, a local bar and restaurant where you can get a taste of the local. Oh, and it's right on the Pacific, too. If you feel like more international fare, Il Pepperoni has great pizza, a juice bar and a bakery. And our local expat favourite, El Chivo, will fill you with burgers, amazing fish and chips, or some thai! They also have a little market (La Bodega), where you can get treats, eats and staples. Playa Guiones is just a bit south, with beginner-friendly waves, lots of shops and restaurants, and a local farmer's market every Tuesday. Enjoy a kayak or Stand Up Paddle tour of Rio Nosara, or pop into a yoga class at Nosara Blue, Naya, or my neighbour Heidi's Nido Yoga. My favorite afternoon is a sail on the Kaya. Depending on the tides, you’ll stop at the alluvial Isla Rosada, where you can swim, snorkel or just bask in the sun enjoying their incredible food and drinks.
