This guesthouse is very cosy and the location has panoramic views over the Nile. The owner speaks fluent English which is rare in Egypt and cooks very tasty fresh and organic food. We appreciated the Nubian style room with private bathroom,AC and fan. Recommended!

The owner Mama DooI was possibly the friendliest person I met in my two weeks of travelling Egypt. She was able to arrange all site seeing and for a very reasonable price! Far better than what you would get from a local taxi driver. I would definitely stay here again!

The location and the view from the terrace were perfect! Ample sitting places for all the guests. Exactly what we wanted. Very tranquil and chilling. The next-door restaurant serves good value-for-money food with decent taste. I can't imagine there is another place we would rather stay in Aswan.

Baba Dool is like a breath of fresh air. Away from the hustle and bustle of Aswan, it is situated on the bank of the Nile. It is quiet and peaceful and so unique. The rooms are airy with good air conditioning and and amazing views straight onto the Nile. We had breakfast and lunch at the guesthouse and both meals were amazing. As great as the accommodation was, it was the people at this family run guest house that made our stay so enjoyable. They were kind and helpful and their hospitality was excellent. Ahmed, the young brother of our hostess, went above and beyond, showing us around his island and telling great local stories which no tour could ever give. He even walked us from our boat (driven by his charming cousin) to the train station, so our correct platform and carriage, and refused the tip we offered him. We are 9 days into our Egypt trip and this is our favourite place. Elephantine island is so interesting in itself and suited our relaxes style of travel perfectly.

The location is optimal. A beautiful traditional Nubian house on the edge of the Nile with a lovely rooftop terrace to relax on while enjoying magnificent views. Rawdah and her auntie were very attentive, friendly and extremely helpful in arranging tours to visit the temples and other sites, including fantastic activities such as a short trip in Felucca around the Elephantine island! The food and fresh juices prepared by the hosts were simply delicious!
