I've lived 25 years in Norway and worked as an IT engineer in core network product development. In recent years after returning to Kerala, I built my house as a homestay for international travelers visiting Kerala and provided them with accommodation and specialty luxury travel services arranging long road trips all over south India.

Property information

We are a homestay, a Zen house with lots of space and silence only 150 meters behind the main busy beach frontline. Our housekeeping maids keep the house and premises tidy and clean to help provide our guests with a pleasant homely stay. Keeping sustainability in focus housekeeping is done only on guest requests on alternate days and between 10:30 AM to 03:30 PM. The majority of our guests are either weekly or monthly. A fiber optic network provides a high-speed internet connection with Wi-Fi access in every corner of the property and on the sundeck rooftop. Watch your Netflix and other streaming platforms flawlessly and with unlimited data usage. Reverse Osmosis (RO) purified free drinking water from our property well is provided in drinking glass bottles. There are 2 double rooms on the ground floor with a large foyer and dining room beside the kitchen. And three double rooms facing the garden and the ocean with a private balcony on the first floor. Then there are three doubles and one single room with a private balcony on the second floor with a fantastic ocean view and sunsets from the double room balcony. The rooftop sundeck is also a perfect spot for star gazers in the night and ocean views. If you are a group of a couple of families then we recommend renting a whole floor at a special rate. Early check-in requests before 10 AM are acceptable if availability permits and any check-ins before 10 AM is not granted. We learned our hard lessons from people arriving as early as 3 or 4 AM and annoyed at us for not being able to check in. So we decided to stop that generosity. Excuse us please. Feel at Home!

Neighbourhood information

We are situated on Kovalam lighthouse beach, otherwise also called the 'Eve's beach' which is one of India's most famous beaches with a number of Ayurveda and yoga centers. Many world-renowned international yoga teachers conduct their yoga retreats on our beach. Kanyakumari, India's southernmost tip where the 3 oceans meet is an 80 km drive from our property. And the famous Suchindram temple is on the way to Kanyakumari. Sree Padmanabha temple in Trivandrum (14 KM) became world famous when 5 formidable treasure chambers below the temple were opened a few years ago and were assessed to be worth 25 billion USD. Ponmudi rainforest and hill station is 65 km drive from our property and it is a good day trip destination. Munnar and Thekkady hill stations and rain forest is 7-8 hours' drive from us. Trivandrum city (14 km) has a museum in one of the old palaces and is close to one of India's best zoos that is also a great botanical garden with many auspicious tropical trees. Trivandrum is a green city. Poovar estuary where the Neyyar river runs into the Arabian ocean is 18 km. Madurai in Tamil Nādu is a 6 hours drive. Alleppey is a 4 hours drive.
