Vladimir was a very kind and helpful host. The breakfast was basic but filling. Great location to everything I wanted to see. The street the house is on is not lit but it still felt perfectly safe walking around after the sun went down, even as a solo female traveller. The bathroom floors are heated which was a very nice surprise. Loved it all.

We received such a warm welcome from host, Vladimir. He tried so much to make us feel us home and even cooked Indian food for us. Despite the language problems, he made us feel so warm. Plus, the rooms are huge and spacious. The rooms are do comfortable, clean and very well-maintained. We had a comfortable stay!

Such a huge room with toilet attached. The host was kind enough to have 6L water bottle ready with a mug for me to drink. Breakfast was also available. Toiletries were provided. Bunch of Russian books to read and a nice TV. Comfortable couch and a cute cat. Vladimir was very nice and flexible.

Location, in a residential area 5-10 mins walk from central city. Size of room. Host, really helpful and picked us up from station at 7am. Huge bottle of drinking water in room. Breakfast.

Spacious, clean and good location. Can go to the central just on foot. Strong shower. The host is really welcoming, friendly and helpful. He cooked us breakfast at 6:00 in the morning!

Xiaxi China

Price versus what you get is very fine. Owner picked me up from airport at 06:00h. in the morning! Bathroom necessities like toothpaste and brush, shampoo, soap are there. Location is good and on walking distance to center. Maybe something like 20-30 minutes. Breakfast is served to you. Almaty is amazing with the beautiful Mountains so close. Take bus Number 12 to get there or take taxi. From Almaty I went to Bishek. At the busstation you can buy a ticket for mini-van, but I went for taxi and paid 5000 Tenge to the border. You have to wait till car is full. At other side of border you take another taxi to city. Will cost something like 200 to 300 Som. You cross border by feet.

Our host Vladimir was a really lovely guy. He provided free airport pick up and drop off and, although he speaks very little English, managed to communicate brilliantly through a series of odd words, and a range of very enthusiastic actions and sound effects. This is very much a homestay type of arrangement with accommodation within Vladimir's family home. Our accommodation comprised a suite of two huge rooms, a bedroom with en-suite plus a separate living area, all very clean and tidy and equipped with just about everything you are likely to need. The location is in a quiet residential area just a 10 minute walk from the commercial area around the Kok-Tobe cable car station and Hotel Kazakhstan.
